Welcome to the website of the Graduate Council!

With this platform, we want to give both international and local doctoral students the opportunity to inform themselves, to get active and to network.

Many of us find it difficult to gain a foothold at the beginning of the doctorate. And sometimes we face additional obstacles when dealing with university administration, when we are unsure about rules concerning the PhD, when we can’t access the resources we need… The good news is: You are not alone! As PhD students we form a community and a political representation – the Graduate Council.

The Graduate Council can not only help you navigate the University system, we can also advocate to change it. We are represented in various committees of the University of Hohenheim and there is an annually elected board that takes care of their individual problems.

This page is intended to give you a brief overview of what it means to do a doctorate at Hohenheim.

If you would like to be informed about social events, networking opportunities, PhD representation on campus, and other relevant topics, you can sign up for our PhD mailing list. If you would like to be added to the list, please send an email to proko@uni-hohenheim.de.

PhD Lunches

We regularly organize joint PhD lunches as a forum for informal exchange. These usually take place once per month, on the second Monday, from 12:30-13:30. You can join us in the newly built part of Mensa.
