What is the Senate?

The Senate is the central body of academic self-administration. It decides on fundamental matters of research, study and teaching.

Tasks:

• Election of the full-time and part-time members of the President's Office
• Approval of Structure and Development Plans (SEPs)
• Opinion on the draft budget or economic plan, on university contracts and target agreements, and on job descriptions for professorships.
• Adoption of resolutions on degree programmes, university institutions, departments and joint institutions and commissions
• Adoption of resolutions on University of Hohenheim Charter and other statutes

Note that Senate meetings happen in German.
