As Graduate students, we form our own political interest group ("Statusgruppe") within the University. As such we are represented in various University bodies. The two main routes of decision-making in the Graduate Council are:
- General Assembly: This is a regular meeting where all PhD students are invited to participate, voice their opinions and propose issues to be discussed. The General Assembly decides the standing of the Graduate Council on political topics and elects the Graduate Council Board.
- General elections: Representatives in the senate, faculty councils and the student parliament are elected yearly through general elections.
