What does the Proko Board do?

The Proko Board coordinates and facilitates the work of the PhD representatives and represents the PhD students towards the University and public. This includes:- organizing social events for all PhDs like the PhD lunches- organizing and moderating a monthly meeting of all PhD representatives- participating in a monthly Jour Fix with the graduate academy- representing the PhDs in other meetingsThe members of the Proko Board share these tasks - so you can handle the issues and activities you are most interested in.

Who can become a member of the Proko-Board?

Anyone who is an official PhD student at the University can be elected. Don't hesitate if you have only started your PhD recently - it is good if the Proko represents the needs of students during different phases of the PhD. Also, Speaking German is not required for being a member of the Proko Board!

Will this role affect my PhD?

Your PhD may benefit from being a member of the Proko Board, as you understand the University and PhD regulations and connect to more people outside your institute. At the same time, being a member will of course also take some time - but remember that you will be part of a team and if things get tough in your PhD or personal life, others can and will step in.

How long would I be elected for?

Proko Board members are elected for 1 year.
